PreSeason – Silverstone

Located near Northamptonshire, Silverstone has been a part of VEC all its seasons. While we use this during the actual season, Silverstone is also used for our PreSeason.

R1 – 1000 miles of Indianapolis

6 October 2018
1000 miles or 384 laps of the iconic 2007 layout of Indianapolis kicks of Season 11. Taking advantage of the banked oval but also tight and twisty infield.

R2 – 6 hours of NOLA

3 November 2018
Avondale, Louisiana close to New Orleans, both a race and kart track (which opened in 2011) Designed by Alan Wilson, known for other race track designs in USA.

R3 – 6 hours of Sao Paulo

1 December 2018
No need for a big introduction to this track, most famous for its thrilling Formula 1 races, but also a new track for next WEC season.

R4 – 8 hours of Sepang

12 January 2019
In 1999 (20 years ago) this Hermann Tilke designed track opened and hosted F1 since. This wide track is perfect for multiclass racing.

R5 – 6 hours of Estoril

9 February 2019
A historic track, now hosting the Virtual Endurance Championship 5th round. Tight and twisty, not the obvious choice for multiclass.

9 March 2019
In 2019 both WEC (1000 miles), IMSA (12 hours) and the VEC will be racing here, the 12 hours of bumpyness.

We go back onto Silverstone, teams have used a lot of time on this track for the preseason events. Expect very close racing.
