Here at Shaun Clarke Racing this season we are running 2 LMP2. One is in division 1 with Jussi and David and another is in division 2 with Amir, Simon and me. We believe the license system will be important for the forthcoming seasons so we are trying to maximize our options to improve our "ratings". I don't care about internet points so much but after finishing 5th in the LMP2 standings in the previous season because of our consistency, we didn't achieve any podium and we are still bronze except for David. Just like other teams we have to try to do our best and get to the next step in the rating ladder. It's been an unlucky race for both cars but... from my perspective it was a very fun race. David and Jussi suffered a disconnection and fell to the deepest of the LMP2 field, but they never give up and like other extremely quick teams that suffered issues too, they found their way to bring the points back home.

Our race in division 2 finished after 148 laps because of an unfortunate accident with a GT3 which didn't notice we were on its side at Kemmel when I was following Mikko. Terminal damage after some somersaults. Shit happens. The pace throughout the field in div2 LMP2 is tight and the racing has been really good as usual in the VEC. We are looking forward to the next one at Interlagos. It's incredible how good and inmersive rf2 is, especially in VR. Long life to rf2. See you in the next one!

It seems that the full results have not yet been uploaded. Or something has gone wrong while doing so. Patience.

Last update of S17 appears as having been made on 2024/09/03, before the race.
The deadline for that is now a day away, and not everyone has time on a Monday to report things. So, 'patience' isn't really a viable argument unless the deadline is extended in my opinion. Thanks for sharing that information though.

The SRP Racing Team SINL #235 had a good race yesterday. A mistake in qualifying put us in last place in the LMP2 category. I didn't realise that when the session changed, the setup was changed and the race preset was loaded with a full tank and medium compound. When I realised that something was wrong, I corrected it, but I only had the chance to do two laps, which were not good either. That's what happens when I never train for a fast qualifying lap.

In the race we gradually moved up the order. A very good job by all the team members. We reached the end of the race in 11th position in a nice fight with other teams. But our driver made a stupid mistake less than 10 minutes from the end, stepping on the grass and brushing the wall on the fast climb, leaving the steering wheel twisted. In an attempt to keep 12th position secured, he did not go in for repairs, continuing to test whether the car was still drivable given the short time left in the race, but in Eau Rouge he completely lost control and destroyed the car. He managed to get the car to the pits with difficulty, but after a long repair he only had the opportunity to join in for the last lap of the race. A shame because we went from having secured a 12th place, which reflected the good work done in the race, to occupying the final 16th position. Just ahead of our teammates who finished 17th, unfortunately they had problems from the beginning of the race.

I am very happy with the work done by the team. We have not yet managed to have a car that is as competitive as we have seen from other teams, but we did a good job in the race and with the strategy. So I am very happy. We hope to continue in this line of progress throughout the championship. See you in Interlagos.

I understand that detailed data on race results is not relevant to making a claim. The important thing is to see the official replay, and we have been informed that it is in the download section. It does allow me to download the replays. ;)

After downloading the replay and noting the timestamps and the involved teams/drivers, the next logical step would be to report the incident, right? Can you do that at the moment? So, it shouldn't be difficult to realise that there's an issue, which I have reported to be addressed. What you 'understand' is not what the rules state, so I have based my report on rule 15.6.1, and simple common sense ;)

You are absolutely right. I mistranslated or misinterpreted your first message. The link that allows managers to report an incident does not allow this.

I hope that at least our comments serve as a help script for new teams to know where things are.

Excuse my confusion Melih ;)

ARMS Cyrba #242 here. We started in P3 and we lost 3/4 position in the first stint but our strategy was strong and setup was really good with few tire wear. Because of this at the end of our 4th stint we were 1st and we had secured a podium at least. So sorry for #234 Competission you were really fast your connection lost was a real pain.

But reality kicked hard also for us, we did a first mistake on Les Combes exit, we had a spin and a GT3 collected us causing massive damage, we had to come back slowly to the pits losing massive time and we did 240sec repair. Our strategy was completely messed up so no more conservative racing but push push push each laps.

By the end of our 9th stint we managed to gain again 5/6 position so we were P11 but again reality kicked us were it hurts, a GT3 failed to brake at last chicane causing us damage on the back of the car, we did a lap to test if car was drivable but we crashed at campus and again massive damage and 240sec. of repair with more positions loss.

After repair again massive push and we ended P11. Not a good race for us, we were expecting a podium at least.

Hi,
Bad luck for us in this first race. Unfortunately, we ended DNF after less than 3 hours, following a fatal run-off to avoid a collision when another LMP2 was making a return to the track in the middle of Pouhon.
It's a shame, because our strategy was starting to pay off. It's the race!
One comment, however : we noticed that several GT3s sometimes behaved unpredictably when overtaking (sudden changes of trajectory or not making overtaking easier). On several occasions, we narrowly avoided an accident.
Sometimes, all you need to do is accept that you're going to lose a bit of time and check your mirrors to make sure things go smoothly.
I know, the same applies to LMP2s ;) .
Can't wait for the next race anyway..

I wanted to apologize to LMH #19 for the scare in eau rouge at the begining of the race, I heard you lift then go full gas again then lift again, so that was confusing a bit. But in the end it was my bad, I thought there was enough space between the car in front and myself for you to slide into, but I was wrong. I really didn't want to loose the draft but I ended up loosing way more and nearly ended your race as well. So sorry!

I'm sorry to hear that your first race ended up in so much repair time. - I really hope it wasn't us who caused it (248 GlamRacing)

This was our first race in an LMP2 and there is definitely a HUGE learning curve going from a GT3 to LMP2, and i that we have driven both classes i understand a bit better both classes.

We did have an small incident with one team where one of our drivers thought he had more space to pass a GT3 but sadly no, thankfully nothing happened them and only us - but i as a team manager went straight to that team to say sorry.

I hope that next race will go better - and less cars will DNF.

Till next race stay awesome!
Hello, I don't think we have had any contact with your LMP2, and even if it happened don't worry, we are also learning although we have a lot of endurance racing under our belt, the VEC is a very high level and we still have a lot to learn from each other.
I am well aware that no one is on the track to intentionally cause accidents, we are the first to make mistakes because sometimes it is not easy to assess this or that situation correctly, it all goes so fast.
I think and hope that over the races we will be able to progress and thus finish the races with as many cars as possible on the track, yesterday there were too many retirements.
see you soon on the track:)

We were very happy with how our first race with our Bros Racing entry unfolded yesterday in Div2 / GT3 field.
First of all, I have to say the level of the field, even in Div2 was very high, especially at the front. We qualified in P8 and before the start of the race I would have been very happy if we would have reached something within the top 5 in the race. OSR, BSR, Carloni and Gilles had all an amazing and superior pace.

It was very cool to have such a big grid with a competitive field. The traffic management in the beginning was very respectful I thought, and while driving I was just enjoying it. It took us quite a while to gain any traction from our 8th position, mostly having had a bit of luck due to other cars bad luck or other issues, however, we still stayed within reasonable reach to the leading cars and tried to maximize our chances. Later on the race went a bit more chaotic, especially once the first driver changes came in and with some drivers or cars traffic management was getting a bit more challenging. Still, we kept our nose clean, found ourself at p3 after 5-6 hours and had a bit of luck when the car, sitting in p2, had to come to the pit when there were only 7m to go. That way, we were gifted P2, which was so much more than what we had expected.

Overtaking with the C8 against the BMW was very hard, like we had to do in on the brakes because we just couldn't get any overspeed even with the best draft possible (.1s gap after la source didn't change at all till le combes, mixed with quali mixture for those attempts).

However, the race was very enjoyable and we are looking forward to the next one already! :)

@Don Baumbach will be boxsplots for this season?

Unfortunately, I am unable to provide the boxplots, as there have been some changes.
The 'full results' page no longer contains the lap times for the event.

There is another way to get this data if a team really really wants it. But its involves some added effort, so if I have to use the other method, then the analysis will be kept private and limited to those that really really wanted it.

If is it possible to have log file?
I can plot it, if i have entire log file. The presentation of boxplot will be worst than SimHQ but it will be nice to have it

It's a shame that this season the individual data for each lap is not available as in previous seasons. Is there no solution to this problem? The information in these tables that Dom provided us is really much appreciated.

No, we are not sharing the result xml, teams might not want to share all their details about what they have done, fuel, tyre etc etc. XML files gets deleted instantly after creating the results.

Results are on simracing.live instead of our old frontpage. There is a link to the "old" result system we have used since S2.
The laptimes are there, so not sure what else is needed to create a lap chart. But i would strongly oppose to giving some teams access to something and others not.

The data for each lap is now available in the full race results. I hope that will help to provide us with the data that many people appreciate.
