Stewards Comments and Feedback
  • Pitlane caused a lot of issues here, drivers definitely need to focus on this going forward, Sebring doesn't come across as a track with a difficult pit in or pit out, but it has been know to catch out numerous drivers, ensure further attention is paid to avoid penalties going forward.

Cool, so in a way both then, gt3 doesn't really seem to have issues with dirty air but can't hurt them if they get some benefit anyway, even if only marginal. Cheers for confirming jimmi.

Apologies to anyone if on the run-up to the home straight if I was in the middle of the track on lap 2. Ended up getting a screen freeze and hit the wall and got steering damage then another screenfreeze which finished me off.

Trace file attached below.

Freeze is not shown in the trace log though, thats in the performance log.

Since join/leaving during a session is a clear issue since UI update or thereabout, it's high time that joining during qualifying should be prohibited. I had 2 laps ruined by 2 tenths when somebody joined. In the LMP3 field that meant 4 positions give or take.

My apologies as I was one of those that joined during Qualifying. My reason for doing so though was that I had a Windows Corruption (possibly due to rF2 as that was the most recent application of mine to be updated and run) and I was still trying to sort everything out so I would be able to run at all.

If I did mess anyones lap up in Q, I again apologies and if the admins see fit to put any penalty towards me for that, then I'll take it on the chin and move on. I hope I at least wasn't too much of a hazzle on track, as my thought up 4 hour practice session before the event shrank to 4 laps in Q and another 2 in Warm-up so ran with a basic set.

There's nothing in the rules about joining/leaving, but it is frustrating with the lag. And even without that issue, the message in the message center about the joining driver can be distracting.

The only thing mentioned is in the first post of the race thread:
15:00 - Open practice (ensure only STARTING driver is on the server)
15:20 - All cars must be on the server - and stay there

I don't know if it should be required that drivers who get booted or need to leave, wait until warmup to join or how they would even know that qualifying has started or is complete other than by the time.

BTW, don't ever load cars manually during a session. I read about being able to do that, mapped the 'L' key and pressed that during practice and caused my game to freeze for several seconds, causing issues to others in practice - sorry about that.

Hopefully with the next race a month a way these issues will be resolved by S397.

I know it was mentioned a lot at imola but I hadn't see any reports of problems at Sao Paulo with join lags, so it's good to know that it is not track specific.

There was a couple of drivers that advised on TS they were running late and doing their best to make it (game install issues), and did successfully make it, I'm sure as drivers we'd all prefer if the shoe was on the other foot and a legit reason has delayed you that you can at least get a chance to make qualy if you don't quite make the start of the session as opposed to having to start rear of field.

However yes with the current issues it is understandably an annoyance, so all drivers should be on before qualy.
