Briefing:
Race starts:

  • Both divisions will follow 4.3.2.2 Drivers shall maintain a safe but reasonable distance to other drivers, following each other in a single file based on starting position, green flag when YOU cross the s/f line.
  • Both divisions should go 120 km/h in sector 1 and in sector 2. Coming out of the bus stop be slow down to pitlimiter speed.
  • Leave 2-3 seconds between classes - NO MORE as this will lead to to much of a gap, leading the traffic to hit earlier than needed.
  • Please make a note of who you are starting behind and do not overtake on formation lap.
Exception to rules:
- 1.4.2 line up changes are moved to 48 hours before race starts, meaning thursday at 13:00
- 10.1.2 Number of cuts allowed per hour is changed to 3 for Daytona

Broadcast will be split up into 3 streams

Hi jimmi

Did the server will go the the current release or still stay on the 1133? As the last release solve some AMD trouble it can be helpful for some
It also added some issues, I’ll be trying to see if I can do some tests.
Some issues with ffb, some issues with results not being written or not being done in time and finally the name changes in the new CS.
I’d rather AMD users run on old driver than everyone having issues.
again I will have a look when I can.

Okay seriously, can we please do something about some of these lmp teams? I joined the Daytona practice server earlier and literally the first thing I saw is some lmp almost murdering gt3 by braking too late. Its already seen multiple times this season that few of the teams clearly aint up to task driving a prototype and should be driving GT's instead which is slower and has some aids to assist you.

I get that mistakes happen, but this season so far has been a nightmare driving standards wise and it's not the same VEC I remember when I first joined here back in 2016 or so. The lack of respect/driving standards/brain usage causing these incidents is really starting to take away the fun and point racing here for me, which is why I'd really like to see something to be done. Currently I'm not really looking forward to Daytona as I know it will be just as bad as the races before.

Just to show how its been so far for us this season:

R1: Got taken out by a fellow GT3 about 500m after the start-> lost rear wing and hundreds of seconds of damage = race ruined.
R2: Avoided lmp's crashing at the start and after serving 200s of penalties got up to podium and close to p2, but ~15min before the end a lapped car crashed in front of me and I couldnt avoid him -> over 200s of damage and finished p4 instead of possibly p2.
R3: Huge crash at the start started by LMH -> bad call from me and lost the engine after hitting crashed lmp hard barely even starting the first lap -> DNF.
R4: LMP runs out of talent on lap 1 driving into raidillon with cold tires, crashes and then for some unbelievable reason rejoins on track just as the first GT's are approaching -> couldnt avoid and lost the engine -> DNF again.

After almost 1500 min of racing so far we've stayed on the lead lap for not more than 20 minutes, thats crazy. Sure with better skills avoiding these clearly very talented prototype drivers it could be more, but I honestly dont think we should need to avoid them crashing every start every race.

mayby 15-20 sec gap between the classes at the start?

"Crashed lmp": lmp had not been crashed yet until you crashed it because of not slowing down like we did when we saw the smoke, but shit happens and we moved on, but that was what happened.

Probably best to take a step back instead of this BS that is going around.
Use the actual IRR's and report people. If you find someone not acting nice on the practice server, use contact staff - everything is recording and there is GB upon GB of replays and xml files. However as said before, people do make mistakes and if you can't deal with that - practice offline.
If its the same team over and over again, we will have records in IRR. However you need to be fair here, reporting racing incidents for stewards does not help the process at all, small bumps "he almost took me out" reports is not something we can use for anything.

Sorry GT3´s but sometimes you also do this on your own - if you chose to go full throttle off track into the mayhem of LMP/H or even on track - its hardly only their fault. I have seen several GT3 drivers that is not behaving according to the rules - you are not the saints where LMP/H cars are the devil here. I am not saying driving from all LMH/P cars are perfect - far from it, but same goes for GT3.

Give and take - the magic words.

The LMP in question on the training server is me. Simple driver error and I didn't touch the GT.
So you start complaining when nothing happened. You made the same remark to me on the server's written chat and I didn't reply, to avoid a potential conflict.

If you think that LMPs are problematic, it's possible that that's the case, but in my case on the training server it was a simple mistake and the training server is there to allow players to train and therefore make mistakes that won't be repeated during the races.

This isn't my first VEC season and so far, apart from an error in interpreting the rules with another lmp2 for which I was cautioned at Monza, I haven't been penalised because I try to do the best I can at the races and I train my team-mates to do the same because it's a personal satisfaction to do the best I can without disrespecting the competitors.

During the last three races, we've been the victims of various accidents that have ruined our races too. We're frustrated at having to train and then end up with this result through bad luck. But we use the IRR system and if there's no penalty... we move on.

We're working on how to minimise the impact of competitors' mistakes on our races, but these are external factors that we don't completely control, but there's nevertheless some personal work to be done that can help.

We're gritting our teeth and waiting for our luck to change so we can hope for the best next time. We're also disappointed with the results, which aren't up to the standard we're capable of.
But mistakes can happen to anyone. Both LMPs and GTs make mistakes. So please stop picking on the LMPs alone.

The IRR system isn't perfect, but it does allow us to sanction and warn competitors so that they can question themselves and improve. Some people take longer to understand, but it's not for you or me to judge them.

I'll just finish with this small point and I won't come back to the subject to avoid a pointless debate.

Respect isn't innate; it's acquired by respecting your competitors. If you don't respect your competitors then you won't be respected in return.

Winning at all costs is not rewarding, but even a defeat in the knowledge that we have nothing to reproach ourselves for is just as satisfying as a victory.

Strength, honour and respect to all. ;)

Now works, but I dont see the skin of Visceral Esports at Timing. On track I see the car full Chrome like this.

Yeah, there is a mistake in the Viceral car, this is due to some other small things done in the background and how the veh files are made. Fixed it now and an update is being built and installed in the next few minutes

Quick question on the qualify and race. Normally the one who qualified would stay on the server for the race and start for the team. As now the qualify is a week ahead does this rule still apply, or is it allowed to have someone else start the race?

thx
